Sony has introduced two new Android Smartphone on its Xperia lineup. The Smartphones named Sony Xperia Tipo and Tipo dual were already expected and leaked a few days ago. Sony Xperia Tio Dual is the first dual-SIM Android Smartphone.
The XPERIA Tipo is a tiny smartphone that will fit in your palm that will come powered by an 800MHz processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7225AA chipset) and features a 3.2″ HVGA TFT screen with scratch-resistant mineral glass. The XPERIA Tipo also features a 3.2MP camera, 2.9GB of built-in memory, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB port and a 1500mAh battery.
Connectivity for Xperia Tipo includes HSPA-enabled 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. Sony Xperia Tio measures 103 x 57 x 13 mm and weighs 99.4g. Sony Xperia Tipo will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.
Sony Xperia Tipo and Xperia Tipo dual are identical except the dual-SIM feature. On Xperia Tipo dual, both SIM cards will not be active at the same time, but a button on the side of the smartphone will allow you to toggle the currently active SIM.
Release date for both Sony Xperia Tipo and Tipo dual is in Q3 of 2012 and will be available in Classic black, Classic white, Deep red and Navy blue. Sony hasn’t revealed anything about the pricing for Sony Xperia Tipo Smartphone.
