ASUS Windows RT Tablet 600 with Tegra 3 to feature 4G LTE
We know that the NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 processor lacked LTE support, and that is why the company bought the cellular radio maker Icera that will eventually enable the company to integrate its chip into the Tegra processor series. Now report comes that NVIDIA has been successful in it and will become like Qualcomm.
Now it seems like NVIDIA’s effort will soon see the light with some standalone units, it is reported that the ASUS is preparing its Windows RT device and would be the first to have LTE support on a device powered by NVIDIA processor, said Mark Aevermann, an Nvidia product manager for its Windows RT efforts.
ASUS showed its Windows 8 RT tablet named Tablet 600 at the Computex, now it is expected that both WiFi and LTE version of tablet will make its way to market later in October. More details regarding to the ASUS plan is yet ot be revealed besides the tablet with quad-core Tegra 3 processor should feature 10.1″ IPS-LCD screen, 2GB of RAM USB 2.0 port, 8MP camera and 32GB of internal memory.
Mr Aevermann has also said that Icera’s LTE radio has already been 4G-certified by AT&T in the US, as well as a number of European carriers.Anyway, we will keep you posted, so stay tuned for more details about the upcoming Asus Windows RT tablet powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor.
