We had reported that the HTC Desire HD would be getting Android 4.0 ICS update, but now it seems like the device won’t be getting Android 4.0 ICS update. Now the HTC has removed the the HTC Deire HD from the official list scheduled to get the Android 4.0 ICS update.

Before we reported, there was a rumor that the device wouldn’t be getting the update but later again the device poped up with rumors of the ICS update and official words on it that the device would get the update. Now HTC has confirmed that the HTC Desire HD won’t get the Android 4.0 update, and certainly it is unfortunate.

The official words on the matter is as follows :

After extensive testing, we’ve determined that the current version of HTC Sense with Android provides customers with the best experience on the HTC Desire HD. When we consider new versions of software, we weigh a number of factors, but ultimately the customer experience on the product is the deciding factor. We apologize for any confusion this change may have caused our customers.

So, better stop expecting the update for the device at least now, but if a wonder happens, you are lucky.
