Panasonic to release Lumix DMC-G5 Camera

Panasonic has added another digital camera to its portfolio. The new Digital Single Lens Mirrorless camera is on its LUMIX series named Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5. The new Lumix DMC-G5 is coming with a totally redesigned Venus Engine  that is promised to deliver r clear, crisp images in both photo and video recording.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 features a  newly integrated 16.05-megapixel Live MOS sensor  housed in a compact, lightweight body with built-in flash. like other Lumix G series, the LUMIX G5 also features  Contrast AF (Auto Focus)  that boasts higher accuracy, especially when shooting with a bright lens with small F values.

The Panasonic Lumix G5 has a large, 920,000-dot high resolution LCD screen with wide-viewing angle that can be rotated 180 degrees to the side, and tilts 270 degrees up and down.The camera is capable of shooting full-HD 1,920×1,080 60p videos in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4) or MP4 format and high-speed burst shooting at six frames per second in 16.05-megapixel full resolution. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 also has an automatic shoot assist functions like AF Tracking, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent D-range Control, Face Recognition and Intelligent Scene Selector.

The camera output lag time  has been reduced by approximately 18% compared to the  LUMIX G3 while the Level Gauge helps the camera automatically detect the horizontal or vertical angle of view, so photos shot in a portrait aspect will be displayed vertically.

There is also an Electronic Shutter mode that is helpful where silence is needed  and the Creative Control Mode has been upgraded  with an increase of filter options that include Soft Focus, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, One Point Color, Cross Process, Low Key, Toy Effect and Star Filter, in addition to the conventional Expressive, Retro, High Key, Sepia, Hi Dynamic, Miniature Effect modes.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 comes in black, white and silver. The pricing and release date are yet to be announced, but expected to be released soon.
