Samsung ATIV Smart PC and PC Pro Win8 Tablets unveiled with Specs

Samsung has announced two new ATIV Windows 8 tablets named Samsung ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro at IFA 2012. These two new tablets are company’s first Windows 8 tablets with Intel’s processor and impressive battery life up to 13.5 and 8 hours. The new Smart PCs are inspired by the ASUS Transformer and the first tablet from the company to feature a detachable keyboard.

The main differences between the two tablets are on its hardware. Samsung Ativ Smart PC is powered by Intel Atom chip and offers a battery life up to 13.5 hours of while the PC Pro is powered by Intel Core i5 chip with a battery life up to 8 hours.  Both tablets features 11.6 inch display with 10-point multitouch support, Samsung’s S Pen and S Camera.

The new Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro has a a high-res full HD display while the Smart PC features display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro has USB 3.0 for a faster file transfer, while the Smart PC only features USB 2.0.

Samsung has used an active digitizer and a special stylus, which dock into silo on the side of the slate. The device features Samsung’s S Note for the S Pen stylus and there should be more other features utilizing the S Pen like Samsung Galaxy Note.

Release date should be around end of the October but pricing is still a mystery. We expect Samsung to announce the price and availability considering Windows 8 release is set for October 26. Samsung has also unveiled its first Windows Phone 8.
