After a lot of rumors and leaks, the most anticipated Android device, Samsung Galaxy Note II is finally official. Even though, the device is almost identical to the original device in its look, the new Galaxy Note is coming with a little bigger display along with many other new features and improved specs under the hood.
The new Galaxy Note 2 has round corners and comes powered by a a quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz along with 2 GB of RAM and features a 5.5″ Super AMOLED screen of 1280 x 720 resolution with slightly less pixel density compared to the original version, 8MP of camera on the rear side, 1.9MP of front-facing camera and a beefy 3,100 mAh battery.
The new Samsung Galaxy Note is thinner than its predecessor at 9.4 mm while 2 grams heavier, at 180 grams. The new Samsung Galaxy Note II should be smoother and will have no trouble running any applications. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will come in three flavors of storage, that include a 16GB, 32GB and 64GB ones. The device will have a microSD card slot making it possible to have as much as 128GB storage.
Samsung Galaxy Note is nothing without its S Pen and its exciting features with special applications designed specially for S Pen usage. The new S Pen comes with many improved features and it’s smarter. Just hover over email titles or images and you would get a look inside. Samsung has named it Air View and it works in S Calendar, the mail application, gallery and video player.
Some other features are PopUp Note and PopUp Video and one you take the S Pen out of its slot while on call, where automatically brings up a note for you to write. And the good news is that Samsung is opening the SDK to developers, and you could expect more and more applications supporting S Pen.
The new Samsung Galaxy Note II is running on latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box, so no need to wait for an update. The Samsung Galaxy Note II will come in both HSPA + and 4G LTE versions, but not sure if the device will feature the same processor for the LTE version or again have to replace the Exynos processor with a Snapdragon one.
Finally release date and price details, unfortunately, company hasn’t revealed exact release date or price details for the Samsung Galaxy Note II, but release is set for October. The new Samsung Galaxy Note will be launched in Europe this October with US and worldwide availability to follow shortly afterwards.
