Aakash 2 Tablet to be launched in India next Month; pricing $35

Aakash tablet was released almost a year ago in India  and getting closer ot its anniversary, the Govt is set to launch its second generation with some specs improvements. The tablet was know for its cheap extremely cheap price tag, and it is specially designed for students and families.

The tablet was formerly known as Ubislate 7+ or the DataWind tablet, and will hit the market as Aakash 2 tablet with a price tag of  $35. The tablet is powered by an ARM Cortex-A8 processor clocked at 1 GHz and packs a 7 inch capacitive touch display, 512MB of RAM, a front facing camera and 4GB of internal storage. Interestingly, the new Aakash is coming with a SIM slot for phone capabilities, and also features microSD card slot for expanding storage.

The Aakask 2 will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread right out of the box  and apparently the device will get Android 4.0 ICS update at some point but not sure when.

The tablet Aakash 2 will be launched  on the 1 year anniversary of its predecessor, starting mid October. It is said that the device has already been pre-ordered over 5.5 million.
