ASUS to launch Padfone 2 on October 16
It seems like second generation PadFone is set to be announced. Even though there haven’t been any official details of the hybrid tablet, we could expect a leak or teaser soon. ASUS has released an invites for the event, that will be held on October 16, 2012. According to the invites, Padfone 2 will be be launched in Milan and Taipei simultaneously in next month.
From the invites, it seems like the new Padfone 2 is also running on the Android OS, and could be Jelly Bean on board right out of the box. But there was a benchmark of the Padfone 2 and expected to be powered by a a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, like LG Optimus G along with a 2GB of RAM. In the Benchmark, the OS on the Padfone was Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Asus released its first Padfone with tablet dock and optional detachable keyboard earlier this year after displaying at the MWC 2012. One of the highlights is that you can have multiple gadgets for less price. The original Padfone is a smartphone that can slide into tablet dock converting it into a full-fledged tablet and if you want more capability for the device, a docking keyboard can transform it into a netbook. Anyway, stay tuned, we will keep you posted.
