As we expected, the Apple has unveiled the new MacBook Pro at the Apple event, along with the new iPad mini and iPad 4. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro will join the 15 inch version released before with Retina display. 2012 MacBook Pro 13 has kept its usual design but a little thicker than the 15 inch version at 0.75-inches and lighter than previous models at 3.57 pounds.
The new MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina Display of 2560 x 1600 resolution, has an overall higher pixel density of 227ppi. The MacBook Pro 13 will be available in two model, one with 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and the other with 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7.
The i5 version sports 8GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD (solid-state drive) and built-in Intel HD Graphics 4000 while the MacBook Pro 13 with i7 processor comes with same 8GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 4000 but 256GB SSD.
Apple MacBook Pro 13 base models price start at $1,699 and $1,999. But if you are willing to shell out some extra, you can add a dual-core 2.9GHZ Core i7 CPU for $200 and a 512GB or 768GB SSD for $500 or $1,000, respectively. The new MacBook Pro 13 with Retina display will be available starting today.
