Acer Iconia W700 Windows 8 Tablet Price and Release Date confirmed

After the announcement of Acer Aspire S7 series Windows 8 Ultrabooks, the company has announced that it will also be shipping its first Windows 8 tablet this month. The Acer Iconia W700 unveiled at the Computex 2012 was one of  many Windows 8 devices present at the event, Acer also unveiled a W510 at the event but the company hasn’t mentioned anything about its availability. Acer will be releasing the Iconia W700 on the day Microsoft launches the Windows 8.

For those who are not aware of the specs, the Acer Iconia W700 is a 11.6 inch Windows 8 tablet that boasts an IPS display of 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. The tablet is powered by a powerful Intel’s third generation a Core i3 or Core i5 Ivy Bridge chip along with a 4GB RAM. The tablet will be available in three models with Intel HD Graphics 4000 as standard and SSDs in different sizes.

The new Acer Iconia W700 also sports 5MP rear camera capable of shooting videos at 1080p and a front-facing camera for your skype or any video call purpose. Moreover, the tablet comes with a  docking station that sports three USB 3.0 ports and will let you dock the device either landscape or portrait mode. Interestingly, the tablet is bundled with a Bluetooth keyboard a well as a MicroHDMI to VGA adapter.

Other features include 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, integrated G-Sensor, E-Compass and Gyro-Meter. The tablet packs a battery promised to last up to 8 hours , that is pretty cool.

The Acer Iconia W700 release date is set to October 26th and opricing varies based on models. The Iconia W700 with a Core i3 CPU, 4GB of RAM and an 64GB SSD will cos you $800. The Iconia W700 slate with Core i5 CPU and same memory and storage is priced at $900 while the tablet with a Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD will set you back $1000. The tablet is pretty sleek with a less than half an inch thick and weighs only 2.3 pounds.
