ASUS adds 14 and 15-inch Models to Zenbook Ultrabook lineup
ASUS has added three new ultrabooks to its portfolio, seeing the growing market of the ultrabook Asus is bringing wider range of ultrabook computers for consumers to choose from. The new ultrabooks join its recently announced Zenbook series, and the devices include 14 and 15 inch ultrabooks. All are built to work on Windows 8.
Namely, 14-inch UX42VS, and the 15-inch UX52VS and U500VZ Ultrabooks. The 14 inch UX42VS is lighter and slimmer at 6mm and weighs just over four pounds.In terms of specifications, ultrabook is offered with optional Ivy Bridge processors ranging from Core i3 to i7, up to 6GB of RAM, as well as up to 1TB of hard drive storage. The ultrabook also features NVIDIA GT645M graphics card.
On the other hand, 15-inch UX525VS is powered by either a Core i5 or i7 processor and sports whopping 10GB of RAM, same graphics like the 14-inch model while the U500VZ is powered by a Core i7 quad-core processor and featuring 8GB of RAM, and a 1080p display with a beefier GT650M graphics card. Noticeably, the 15-inch U500VZ weighs only 4.4 pounds and measures 6mm thick.
All new ASUS ultrabooks will go on sale in next month but exact price and release date are yet to be revealed. However, starting price is expected to be $699 for base model, ranging up to $2,000 for the higher-end models. ASUS also plans to bring its 11- and 13-inch Zenbook Prime ultrabooks with touchscreens at some point, but pricing and availability details are still mystery.
