Chevrolet Sonic Dusk Production begins; to Unveil at SEMA 2012
Chevrolet is gearing up for the announcement of its new car Sonic Dusk. The company will announce the new vehicle at the next week’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas on October 30. The company will be unveiling its production-ready model of the Sonic Dusk at the event.
“The reaction to the Sonic Dusk concept last year was overwhelmingly positive and proved customers are interested in a more-refined subcompact. We’re moving quickly to bring Sonic Dusk to Chevrolet showrooms.” Chevrolet’s vice president of marketing, Chris Perry, said. The car was first shown up as a concept model at last year’s SEMA show and now the company is preparing to make it a reality.
The Sonic Dusk is powered by a Ecotec 1.4-liter turbocharged engine rated at 138 horsepower and 148 pound feet of torque. The Sonic Dusk will be available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
The production model of the Sonic Dusk comes with some changes to exterior like ashen grey paint job, the rear spoiler, and 18-inch aluminum wheels finished in pearl nickel.
Inside, Sonic Dusk has a leather-trimmed seats with suede accents and mojave tan inserts. The car also features mojave accent stitching and tan-colored accents on the door panels and instrument panels for an enhancements of interior’s ambience. The car has also got Chevrolet’s MyLink “infotainment” system, that lets you integrate a smartphone with the stereo system either via Bluetooth, plug-in outlet or USB.
Chevrolet is expected to release the Sonic Dusk late 2012, but an exact release date and price are not available yet.
