Lenovo to release Windows 8 IdeaPad Yoga, Lynx, ThinkPad Twist; Specs, Price

Wow, Lenovo has announced a bunch convertible tablet PCs, ahead of  release of  Windows 8. Lenovo is prepared to launch both Windows 8 and Wind RT tablet PCs. The devices announced today, include Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11, Yoga 13,  Lenovo IdeaPad Lynx and ThinkPad Twist.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 and 13

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 is a Windows RT device powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and features 11.6″ 1366×768 IPS LCD display with multitouch capabilities,  HDMI-out port and  64GB of internal memory. Concerned about the battery life? no worries, Lenovo is promising a whopping 13 hours on a charge and the device is 0.67″ thick and complete with  a full-fledged keyboard part.

On the other hand, the  Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 is as name suggests, a 13.3 inch convertible tablet PC, running on Windows 8. The  Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 is built with  Core i5 processor and sports 13.3-in high definition IPS display, rich audio-visual features including Dolby Home Theater and measures 16.9 mm thick.

When it comes to pricing, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 is priced at $799 while the 13.3 inch device starts at $1,100 and release date is October 26.

Lenovo IdeaPad Lynx

Lenovo IdeaPad Lynx is another 11.6 inch Windows 8 tablet running the same Atom processor as on Acer W510. More details of the his device is yet to be revealed, what we know is it is coming with a 11.6-innch screen, detachable keyboard, USB port and a battery promised to last 8 hours for a price of  $599.

Lenovo ThinkPad Twist

Finally, the ThinkPad Twist, a 12.5-inch ultrabook equipped with  Intel Core i7 processors and offers optional software up to Windows 8 Pro  and optional 3G connectivity. The ThinkPad Twist features 350nit IPS display, up to 500 GB or 128 GB SSD and mini-HDMI or DisplayPort jack.

The ThinkPad  Twist is small-business ultrabook weighing in at 1.3 pounds. The device will be available for a starting price of $849 and release date is set to Ocotber 26.

The company has also announced the price and availability for the Lenovo ThinkPad 2 Windows 8 tablet. The device is 10 inch enterprise oriented slate with  4G and docking options,  and will hit the market this month for a reasonable $649. The ThinkPad tablet 2 will be offered with a host of  IT manageability, security and corporate-level service.

Microsoft Windows 8 launch is set to October 26th, and companies seems to be prepared to launch their own Windows 8 devices on the same date. All of the major companies including Acer, HP and Asus have already announced their own Win8 devices, and it is all about matter of time to hit the market.
