LG Nexus 4 Smartphone official; Specs, Price, Release Date

Sandy couldn’t stop the LG from announcing its latest Android beast in the Google Nexus series. The phone has been in rumors and leaked several times and now it is official with full details along with Nexus 10 tablet.  Google and LG officially announced the LG Nexus 4 confirming details we have already heard.

In terms of specs, the device is almost identical to the LG Optimus G which was launched in Korea, but has a completely new design with curvy corners and almost like Galaxy Nexus. The LG Nexus 4 is powered by  a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with four Krait cores at 1.5GHz and sports a 4.7″ True HD IPS Plus screen with WXGA resolution (768 x 1280, 15:9 aspect ratio) with  Zerogap Touch technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 2, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM,  an 8MP camera on the rear side and  a 1.3MP front camera.

The device has a 2100 mAh battery promised to offer 15.3 hours of talk time.  The device also features NFC and will support wireless charging.

The smartphone is running on latest Android 4.2 OS. The smartphone features a cool technology called Photo Sphere that lets you take photos  in every direction you like – sideways or upside-down.

The LG Nexus 4 measures 33.9 x 68.7 x 9.1mm  and scales 139g, slightly wider and shorter while slightly thicker than the Galaxy Nexus.

Unlike LG Optimus G, there is no mention of LTE version of the device, the Google Nexus 4 features  GSM/HSPA+  for connectivity apart from other usual features. The device comes in two models, 8GB (unlocked) for a price of $299 while the 16GB version for $349. T-Mobile USA will be offering 16GB version for a price of $199 on two-year contract.

Just like the Nexus tablets, LG Nexus 4 smartphone release date is set to November 13 and will be available from the Play Store in US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia.
