Nokia Lumia 822 for Verizon announced

Major carriers are finally joining the latest Windows Phone 8 party, after the announcement of the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 for the AT&T, We have seen several leaks of the Verizon version of Lumia 820 aka 822, but it is no more a mystery. Nokia has announced first Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphone for Verizon.

The device is exactly the same Lumia 820 with a little change in design, a curvy edges with Verizon logo at the bottom of the device.  The Lumia 822 is powered by a a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 dual-core chipset with Adreno 225 and packs 4.3″ WVGA ClearBlack AMOLED display with a pixel density of 217 ppi, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage and 8MP rear facing camera.

The smartphone is coming fully loaded – it features the Nokia Drive+ offline navigation with US maps pre-installed, the City Lens and Transit apps and several camera apps.

The device is CDMA version and comes with LTE connectivity that will run on Verizon LTE network. You can have different shells on the back of the Lumia 822, including a shell that enables wireless charging.

However, exact release date and price for the Verizon Lumia 822 are yet to be revealed, but expected to be released in November.
