Panasonic Toughbook C2 with Windows 8 official; Specs, Price
Panasonic has launched a new semi-rugged Toughbook C2. The convertible laptop fully compatible with the latest Windows 8 Pro operating system is built with digitizer to use on touchscreen. This is the first semi-rugged convertible tablet in Toughbook series to run on Windows 8.
The new device is powered by Ivy Bridge Core i5-3427U vProTM processor with built-in Turbo Boost Technology and sports 12.5 inch five point capacitive and daylight-readable HD display, a pair of USB 3.0 port, a 720p webcam and 11 hours of battery. You also have an optional long life battery of 15 hours.
There are also optional rear facing camera of 3MP, optional 4G LTE or 3G Gobi mobile broadband and you can customize with optional a serial port and VGA or modem port, as well as optional near field communications (NFC) or SmartCard reader for user authentication.
An HDMI port comes standard, and there are Ambient light, magnetic, acceleration and gyro sensors to enable new Windows 8 functionality.
The new Windows 8 Panasonic Toughbook C2 release date is in December and will be available from authorized Panasonic resellers for a starting price of $2949. The Panasonic Toughbook C2 comes with 3-year limited warranty.
