Panasonic unveils 100-lumen Optical Imaging Unit
Panasonic has something new in preparation and shown up its prototype at the CEATEC 2012. The device is a thinner 100-lumen-laser projector module aka OIU as the company prefers, claimed to be world’s slimmest one. The device can project pictures at 800x480p.
The projector is still a prototype and far from mass production. No idea when it will hit the market. The Panasonic hopes to trim it further and integrate it into phones. The projector works on a single laser beam and scanning out the picture. The OIU measures 75mm thick.
Anyway, we will keep you posted when more details are available about the Panasonic Optical Imaging Unit.
