Some days ago, Samsung announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for US version of Galaxy S III, but the release of the update depends on the carriers. Fortunately Sprint has started rolling out the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update to its Galaxy S III. The update is seeding as OTA.

The software update brings many enhancements as well as bug fixes. Users will get Project Butter for a buttery-smooth UI, Google Now, expandable and actionable notifications in the Notification Area.

In Europe, Galaxy S III users have already got their updates, but it took a while for Samsung to announce for the US users. Anyway Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for other carriers should arrive soon, following weeks or even days. So keep an eye on your device and get it updated soon after you get notification.
