Samsung has added yet another but affordable smartphone named Samsung Grand. The new device falls under its Note series with its large screen but will be affordable and targets at the masses who don’t want to spend that much money for devices like Galaxy Note II. The device is more of having a large screen and latest Android version on board.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and sports 5-inch LCD of 800 x 480 resolution, 1GB of RAM, 8MP camera on the rear side with capability of shooting 1080p video and 2MP front-facing camera. The camera has a backside illumination sensor (BIS) ,which will give a better shots in low-light.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand also features 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for memory expansion. For connectivity, there are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, HSPA+ and the device gets its power from a 2,100mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand is running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI atop. The OS will make sure smoother experience for users with its Project Butter.
There will be two version of the Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Grand GTI9082 with Dual-SIM support, and Galaxy Grand GTI9080 with single-SIM support that will come later. Unfortunately, release date and pricing are still a mystery, but Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Grand sooner than later.
