US Cellular Galaxy S III to get 4.1 Jelly Bean Update on Friday

Yet another US version of the Galaxy S III also going to get Android Jelly Bean update and this time it is for U.S. Cellular version. According to the US Cellular, the update roll out will begin on Friday and will bring many improvements and new features.

The Android Jelly Bean upgrade enhances the wireless experience by making the device faster, smoother and more responsive” said, US Cellular. Features include the new Google Now that offers information any time as well as serving as personal.

One your Galaxy S III is upgraded to the new OS, you can have weather, maps, navigation, search, flight status, and other information right from the lock screen shortcut. The update also brings rich notifications with shrink and expand features and you don’t have to launch an app to take an action, since the new notification will let you do it from notification platform.

In US, major carriers like Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T have all already started rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update and the US Cellular is the latest one. More details regarding the upgrade will be available on US Cellular website on Friday. You can update your device either OTA or connecting the device to computer via USB cable.
