2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 debuts with New Design (Images)

Finally the most anticipated model from Chevrolet, the  2014 Corvette C7 has been unveiled. The car comes with an entirely new design to both exterior and interior. The model gets a complete overhaul in nine years, but the company has kept its overall slick design of the long nose and short tail.

According to GM, this is not just a sports car, in their own words, “It’s more than just a sports car,” said GM design chief Ed Welburn. “It’s an emotion. It’s a passion. It is a vehicle that is larger than life.”

The new Chevrolet Corvette C7 is running on a next-generation V8 engine, a small-block LT1 that is a combination of several advanced technology. The car only takes drivers less than four seconds from 0 to 60mph (96km/h). The  2014 Corvette C7 model offers 450 horsepower, with direct fuel injection, as well as cylinder deactivation, the model makes sure improved gas mileage. The model is also claimed to be most fuel efficient  and exceeding the EPA-estimated 26mpg (9.0lt/100km) of the current model.

The new Corvette C7 features a completely new headlights and grille and a tail light has been replaced with Camaro-like ones.  Another feature worth noting is rear-quarter windows.There are vents on all sides including tail, both sides and the hood.

The company says that it has ensured quality of material as well, like cabin featuring real carbon fiber, aluminum and hand-wrapped leather surfaces.  The interested buyers will be offered with a choice of two seats, each featuring a lightweight magnesium frame.

The new Chevrolet Corvette C7 will to hit the road this year, but unfortunately, the company hasn’t announced pricing or an exact release date for the  2014 Corvette C7, but base model is expected to cost more than $49,600 of the base predecessor, C6.
