At the CES 2013, Huawei has introduced its huge new smartphones for its Ascend series, As expected the smartphones include a 6.1″ version Ascend Mate and a 5″ Ascend D2 and both come with staggeringly powerful batteries inside and should be good for your all day entertainment.
Huawei Ascend D2
As the name suggests, Ascend D2 is a followup of its Ascend D1, powered by a home-made quad-core 1.5GHz processor along with 2GB RAM features a 5-inch 1080p display at 443ppi with a thin bezel, a 13MP camera on the rear side like the Sony’s latest Xperia Z, that can shoot videos at 1080p resolution and a 1.3MP front snapper.
The Ascend D2 has 32GB of internal storage, but no microSD card slot if you want to expand it further. The smartphone has usual connectivity features as well as LTE for your faster internet experience. On the software side, the Huawei Ascend D2 runs on heavily customized Android 4.1 Jelly been. The device packs a juicy 3000 mAh battery.
unfortunately, pricing and release date are yet to be announced, but the device is expected to hit its home market this month. The company has also said that it will be offering a 4.7″ version of the device but there is no word on its specifications.
Huawei Ascend Mate
The Huawei Ascend Mate is a phablet with a 6.1-inch display protected with Gorilla Glass. The smartphone is claimed to feature thinnest bezel to date and covering the 73% of its front panel.
Huawei Ascend Mate is powered by the same quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and features a 6.1″ display with 720p resolution, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera capable of 1080p video shooting, 1.3MP front-facing unit and microSD card slot for expanding memory.
The Ascend Mate runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI and features pop-up apps for better multi-tasking and one-hand UI for an improved experience of the dialer and keayboard when one of your hands is not available. Interestingly the Huawei Ascend Mate has even powerful 4050 mAh battery inside.
The Huawei Ascend Mate release date is in February and China will be the first to get the device. Pricing for the device is still a mystery but rumors suggest about $480. Smartph0pne companies are gradually introducing devices with huge display of 1080p and Sony has also joined the party with its Sony Xperia Z and hopefully high-end device will be available for cheap price.
