ASUS launches MeMO Pad Jelly Bean Tablet; Specs and Price

Even though the CES is over, the flow of new devices shouldn’t end. So ASUS has unveiled its latest addition to its Android tablet, named ASUS MeMO Pad. The tablet is yet another cheap Android device to hit the market. The tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS right out of the box and full-support for Google Play.

The Asus MeMO Pad is powered by a a VIA VM8950 processor clocked at 1GHz and sports a 7 inch display with 1024×600 resolution,  Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The tablet also has a  1MP front camera for video call and microSD card for further expansion of the storage. Asus also provides a 5GB of online storage for free.

The tablet is in fact a cousin of Nexus 7,  and looks to be ME172V by its model number, even though the company hasn’t revealed it. The tablet is priced at $149.

For connectivity, there are a WIFI (B/G/N), micro-USB connector and 3.5mm audio jack. Unfortunately, it lacks GPS. The tablet packs a 4270mAh and promised to last 7hours at a charge.

Design-wise, the tablet has a textured back, and grip should be good  and looks like it doesn’t need a protective case. The tablet measures 196.2 x 119.2 x 11.2 mm and weighs in at 370g (13.1oz).
