Huawei’s first Windows Phone 8 Ascend W1 official at CES 2013
It is Huawei’s CES, at least in the case of smartphones so far, the company has just announced yet another smartphone after the top-notch Ascend D2 and Mate Android smartphones, but this time, it is a Windows Phone 8 device. The smartphone has kept its series name except for “W1” at the end, so it reads Huawei Ascend W1.
The new Huawei Ascend W1 is a mid-end Windows Phone 8 smartphone. The device is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait processor and Adreno 305 GPU power. The smartphone packs a 4″ WVGA (480 x 800) IPS LCD, 5 MP rear unit capable of shooting 720p videos and a front-facing camera for video call.
The smartphone comes with a full lamination technology for a better outdoor visibility. The Ascend W1 gets its power from a 1950mAh battery but utilizes a power saving technology which helps save %30 power consumption, making the battery last longer than it normally does.
Huawei’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be available in three colors, blue, red, black and white, unfortunately, there is no word on pricing and release date for the Ascend W1. All what we know is that the device will hit China and Russia this month while Western Europe, Middle East and USA next.
