Japan welcomes Chevrolet Camaro Giovanna Edition

Japan Welcomes Chevrolet Camaro Giovanna Edition

There is an American car with an Italian name only sold in Japan. No, this is not really a joke. This is in fact very recent news coming from Chevrolet, which has decided to invest a particular dose of attention and commitment in the Japanese market.

Chevrolet Camaro Giovanna Edition is that car. Recently presented at the Tokyo Auto Salon while all eyes were on Detroit and its endless list of announcements, this car risks going unnoticed in the Western World considering it will only be sold in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Wrongly so, however, if we consider the level of cool and refinement it boasts. Some of its elements are in fact likely to inspire more models around the world: both its 3.6-liter LT (on the RS trim) and the 6.2-liter V8 engines (on the SS), offer performing options which are crying out to be tested out on the road.

But the X-factor of this model resides in fact in the tires, those special 20-inch alloy wheels which the car is named after. And to catch the eye of demanding Japanese drivers, the Giovanna will try its best not to look like any other Camaro out there: it will feature two stripes across the top section, with its own fuel door cap, SS and RS emblems as well as Giovanna logos replicated in on its seats and interior.

Selling in Japan for 4,990,000 and 5,990,000 yen respectively, the RS and SS are likely to become instant hits on the Japanese market, historically very receptive towards the American giant.
