Opera is taking yet another steps in its browser war by introducing a new mobile browser named “Ice” and it seems to be a game changer with its new WebKit layout engine instead of Presto platform. The WebKit is now used by Apple’s Safari and Chrome browsers. The browser was detailed in a video obtained by Pocket-lint.
The new browser will come with fully touch interface optimization for smoother experience on touch smartphones and tablets. The browser will feature more gesture features instead of “boring buttons” and central homescreen replacing tabs. You can save pages like applications to Speed-Dial with a drag and drop.
According to report, the new Opera Ice browser could hit Android and iOS in February while a new desktop version of Opera is set to follow in March.
