The processor is based on a full eight processor cores and claimed to be a low powered, high performance mobile processor. The new processor announcement is coming as NVIDIA announced its latest Tegra 4 processor.
Chief of Samsung Electronics Stephen Woo said that power consumption while increasing the processing power has bothered him . The new iteration is designed with performance ratio in mind and Samsung promises up to 70% power savings. The processor is built based on ARM big.LITTLE / Cortex A15 architecture.
Samsung claims that the 3D games on devices powered by Exynos 5 Octa will be twice that of anything available at the moment. The company proved the processing power by demonstrating how you can search for restaurants and watch an HD movie at the same time and some 3D gaming like Need for Speed.
