Seagate releases Wireless Plus Mobile Device Storage; pricing $199.99
Seagate has introduced its new storage device at CES 2013, aiming at those who want to keep their content with them on the go. The device is named Wireless Plus mobile device storage and specially designed to wirelessly stream content and supports up to eight connected smartphones or tablets.
The Seagate Wireless Plus comes in one terabyte of capacity and it is enough for up to 500 high-definition movies. The storage device also has a an internal battery better for up to 10 hours of use per charge. To access contents from smartphones and tablets, the company bundles the storage device with a Seagate Media app. The Seagate Media app can run on Apple iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire HD devices.
The Seagate Wireless Storage is also capable of sharing of photos, audios, and documents. The storage device packs a removable USB 3.0 adapter and can create its own WiFi network letting you connect to smartphones and tablets in areas where WiFi is not available. The Seagate Wireless Plus also supports Apple’s Airplay and apps available for Samsung’s smart TV and Blu-ray players.
