SIGMA P3 Merrill with Foveon X3 sensor announced

Finally SIGMA also lifted its curtain to show its latest compact camera dubbed DP3 Merrill at the CES 2013. The camera boasts 46MP has a simple design with plain front casing. The camera is equipped with Foveon X3 image sensor and promised to deliver outstanding resolution and natural rendering.

The camera features a high performance 50mm F2.8 lens equivalent to 75mm on a 35mm SLR camera and enhanced macro functionality. The camera has a Dual TRUE II image processing engine for a faster processing and overall quality of the final image.

The SIGMA DP3 Merrill can shoot 7 frames in a continuous shooting mode  and offers a  shooting speed of up to 4 frames per second.  the camera boasts a ISO 100 to 6400 and on the rear, there is a 3.0 inch TFT color monitor with a wide viewing angle and intuitive UI. Unfortunately, for Video, the camera is still stuck with VGA resolution. SIGMA hasn’t said anything on release date and pricing yet, but we will keep you posted.
