Yes Finally, Sony has lifted the cover of the most anticipated Android smartphones Xperia Z aks Yuga and Xperia ZL aka Odin. As expected, the new smartphones were announced at its CES press conference. Both Xperia Z and ZL are huge devices with 5 inch displays and will be competing with smartphones like HTC DROID DNA and Optimus G. Let’s take a look at the specification details.

Sony Xperia Z

Xperia Z has a unibody design and comes certified IP57, means it is dust and water-resistant. The smartphone has a non-removable battery of 2,330 mAh and glass panels on the front and back.

Sony Xperia Z powered by the latest Snapdragon S4 Pro with a quad-core 1.5GHz Krait processor packs a a 5″ LED-backlit 1080p display with Mobile Bravia 2 Engine, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 320 graphics. The smartphone has a 13MP Exmor RS camera capable of shooting 1080p videos with HDR option.

In terms of connectivity, Xperia Z has got  LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and FM radio and for expansion of the memory, there is microSD card slot too. On the software side, the Xperia Z will be running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box atop latest version of Sony’s proprietary launcher.

Unfortunately, Sony hasn’t said anything on its pricing and release date, but all what we know is that the Xperia Z will hit the market in March 2013.

Sony Xperia ZL

Sony Xperia ZL  previously known as Odini was leaked several times before, now it is official. The Xperia ZL is also joining the 5-inch smartphone fight with high-end specs inside. In fact the Xperia ZL is pretty similar to the Xperia Z except it lacks IPS certification and has a slightly different design.

The Sony Xperia ZL has its camera in the bottom of the device  and is slightly  lighter than the Xperia Z. The Smartphone is powered by the same  Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and features 5″ 1080p display, 13MP camera, microSD card slot for further expansion of the memory. The smartphone also features usual connectivity like the Xperia Z.

Like the Xperia Z, ZL will also be running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box. Unfortunately, company hasn’t revealed anything about release date and price for the Xperia ZL either, but just like the Zperia Z, ZL will also go one sale in March.
