Super Talent releases UltraDrive MX2 SSD

Super Talent has introduced its new SSD  called UltraDrive MX2. The new SSD is promised to offer a better performance,   and comes combined a state-of-the-art controller with  high-speed cache of off-the-shelf SLC and MLC NAND flash storage. The company claims that the combination of  flash storage and the controller can offer read and write speeds in excess of 200 MB/s.

The new SSD is as thin as 2.5-inch and will be offered in several storage capacities that include 60 GB to 480 GB.  All models come with a 64 MB DRAM cache and  able to withstand significant vibration and shock. According to the company the drives can withstand 16 Gs of vibration and 1500 Gs of shock.

Access time for the Super Talent UltraDrive MX2 Solid State Drives is 0.1ms. The new SSD comes with a three-year warranty on the SLC chips while a two-year warranty on the MLC chips.  The Super Talent UltraDrive MX2 also features advanced error correction, wear leveling, and bad block management technologies as well as mini USB and SATA II connectivity options.  The UltraDrive MX2 SSDs are available from Amazon with a price tag of $515.61 for 240GB version, and $1,101.00 for 480GB version.
