You may not have heard much about the Tobii but it doesn’t mean its technology isn’t worth mentioning here. The company has introduced new eye-tracking technology for any Windows 8 PCs. The technology known as REX is a USB-connected accessory that can be integrated with any Windows 8 PCs.
The REX is slightly larger than a pen and sits perfectly below any PC monitor. Monitors with Tobii REX tracks your eyes and can be used to navigate, zoom, select and scroll on Windows 8 PCs. The device can be integrated with other existing controls such as the keyboard, mouse or touchpad, but you still need a mouse and trackpad around.
The Tobii hasn’t yet announced pricing and availability for the REX device, but expected to ship 5,000 units before the end of 2013. For developers, Tobii has launched a special edition for a price of $995.
