Asus Padfone Infinity and Fonepad announced; Specs and Price

Asus  has introduced its next generation Padfone and a brand  new Fonepad at MWC 2013. The device is dubbed Padfone Infinity and comes with a boosted spec under the hood while the Fonepad is a tablet with full phone functionality, means you can make calls using the device.

Asus  Padfone Infinity

The Asus Padfone Infility is Android device  with a tablet dock. The device is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Krait 300 CPU running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset and boasts a 5” 1080p screen with a whopping 441ppi. The smartphone’s tablet dock has also  got improvements, the dock has a 10.1” screen of 1920×1200 resolution and both have anti-fingerprint coating.

Padfone Infinity also features 13MP camera  on the rear side that can capture up to 100 shots in burst mode  at 8fps and capable of shooting videos at 1080p resolution. The device also has a front-facing camera of 2MP for video  call. The smartphone packs a decent 2,400mAh battery while there is a 5,000mAh battery in the tablet dock.

For connectivity, the Padfone Infinity has 100Mbps LTE (Cat 3) and NFC as well as other usual connectivity  features. The  device has a 64GB of built-in storage and Asus offers 50GB of cloud storage. The tablet docks also offers an 18mm driver in its loudspeaker and comes with 3rd generation Sonic Master audio enhancing tech. The device  also offers a separate Audio  wizard with several preset modes  such as Game mode, movie mode, voice mode and so on.

Release date  for the Asus Padfone Infinity is yet to be revealed but  the device’s price starts at €999 / $1325.

Asus Fonepad

The device  is exactly what the name sounds, a tablet with full phone features. The Fonepad is powered by an Intel Atom Z2420 chipset with a single-core CPU at 1.2GHz and  sports a 7” tablet with an IPS screen of 1280 x 800 resolution, 1GB of RAM and PowerVR SGX540 GPU.

The Fonepad has a 1.2MP front-facing camera, 3MP rear camera and  8 and  16GB of built-in storage . For connectivity, the tablet has 3G HSPA+ as well as microSD card slot and 5GB of lifetime Asus WebStorage.

The ASUS  Fonepad is priced  at €220 and will be released in April, but an exact release date is yet to be revealed by the  company.
