Huawei Ascend P2 announced; Specs and Price
Huawei is busy producing new devices, after announcing its flagship devices such as Ascend Mate and Ascend D2 at the CES 2013, the company has announced yet another Android smartphone, Ascend P2 at MWC 2013. The device is an upper mid-end device with a 4.7-inch display of 720p resolution.
The device has a slim profile at 8.4mm thickness and boasting a 4.7-inch 720p IPS screen with 312ppi ratio, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 2. The device is running on a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB RAM and 16GB of storage, but never think of expanding its memory as the device lacks microSD card slot.
The Ascend P2 also features front and rear cameras, 1MP and 13MP respectively. The rear camera has a n LED flash and is capable of shooting videos at 1080p. The camera also offers HDR for both still and videos and there is a dedicated hardware camera key.
The smartphone has a bunch of connectivity features that include 3G with HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth,and NFC, and certainly the device support LTE , fastest on smartphones so far, at 150 Mbps.
Moreover, the device has Huawei’s proprietary Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX), which will help reduce power consumption and charging time 25% compared to other devices. Software side, the Ascend P2 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI v1.6 on top of it.
The smartphone is expected to hit global markets in Q2 2013 with a price tag of about €400 while an exact release date is yet to be announced. In France, the device will be available on Orange France in June 2013. Check out the Hands-on video below and drop your comments in the box.
