Nokia Lumia 720 and 520 announced; Specs and Price
Nokia held a press conference at the MWC 2013 and announced its latest Windows Phone 8 devices. Dubbed Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 are the newest smartphones to join the Nokia Lumia series but this time Nokia targets at those looking for devices with mid and low-end specs and relatively affordable price.
Both smartphones are coming with Nokia’s improved software features including Drive, Maps and software lenses and almost identical in both design and specifications.
Nokia Lumia 720
Lumia 720 is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz Snapdragon Krait processor and packs a 4.3″ ClearBlack display of WVGA 800 x 480 display, 512 MB of RAM, 8GB of storage and microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB.
The smartphone has 6.7MP camera on the rear with a bright f/1.9 aperture and Carl Zeiss optics and wide angle 1.3MP front-facing camera for video call. The smartphone is also wireless charger enabled and gets its power from a 2000 mAh battery.
The whole things come in a 9 mm thick plastic casing and weighs 128g. The device will be available in variety of colors-red, yellow, cyan, magenta etc and has been priced at €249 that is around $330. The new Lumia 720 is expected to hit Asia and select European countries in Q1.
Nokia Lumia 520
Lumia 520 is lower-end model of two that features a 4″ WVGA IPS LCD with super sensitive touch, 5 MP with no flash and 8GB of storage. The device also has microSD card slot for further expansion of the memory. The camera on the rear is capable of 720p video capture while it lacks a front-facing camera.
The Nokia Lumia 520 is 9.9 mm thick and weighs 124g. The device is priced at $183 and will be available for purchase in Q2. The device is expected to hit China first, followed by Asia, Europe and US.
