As we expected, Google has unveiled both Nexus 7 2 and Android 4.3 at the Google event. The new version of the Google’s Android and Nexus device were introduced by Android/Chrome chief Sundar Pichai at the event. The new Nexus 7 has got much improvements from its predecessor, and looks thinner, and sleek.

Nexus 7 2 is smaller and lighter in design. The tablet is and 2mm thinner and bezel is just 2.8mm. And the tab;et is 50g lighter than its predecessor.

The Nexus 7 2 as rumored is coming with boosted specifications. The tablet is powered by  a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and Adreno 320 graphics. For a stunning graphic experience, the device has a 1920 x 1200 Full-HD resolution display and for a smother multitasking experience, there goes 2GB RAM inside, you will not run out of memory.

On the back is a 5MP camera which is capable of shooting 1080p video and a 1.2MP on the front for video call. Now Asus has included an LED notification light on the front and a SlimPort, so that you can get HD video out of the microUSB port.

For connectivity, there are dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and optional NFC, 4G LTE and HDMI output. The tablet is also supported with wireless charging. The tablet has also go an increased battery life

The tablet comes in two flavors of storage, 16GB version and 32GB version. WiFi-only 16GB Nexus 7 is priced at  $230 while the 32GB at $270. The 4G LTE version with 32GB version will cost you $350.

In terms of software improvement, the Android 4.3 brings some new features like new restricted profiles that lets you limit usage of apps, OpenGL ES 3.0 support and Google Play Games app. Google has also changed the way Android handles the notifications. Now third party apps can also access notifications and presents notification history. The Android 4.3 also supports Bluetooth 4.0 with Low Energy mode.

The new Google Nexus 7 2 is up for pre-order starting today and release date is set to July 30th via Google Play and other retailer. LTE version will be available from  T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. Availability of Nexus 7 2 in other countries like Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Australia, Japan and South Korea expected in the coming weeks.
