BlackBerry launches QWERTY BlackBerry 9720

BlackBerry has finally announced yet another QWERTY device named BlackBerry 9720. The smartphone has a traditional BlackBerry form factor and runs on the BlackBerry 7 OS. The device is specially targeted at those who are looking for an affordable device to get things done.

The BlackBerry 9720 is not going to make splash. The specs look to be oudated, but you can expect it for a cheap price. The device  is powered by  800MHz CPU and 512MB RAM.The device has a 2.8-inch 320 x 480 pixel IPS capacitive touchscreen, 5 MP camera on the back and a 1,450mAh battery lasting pretty average 7 hours of talk time.

The phone also comes with a dedicated BlackBerry Messenger button and BBM Voice plus 3G connectivity. For apps, you have BlackBerry app world where you can get plenty of apps you need for the device.

BlackBerry doesn’t boast about their new device but they certainly know their consumers for the device, “It’s perfect for customers upgrading from a feature phone or entry-level Android or Windows Phone device,” BlackBerry explains in the official press release.

The BlackBerry 9720 smartphone will be released in select markets in Asia, EMEA and Latin America. unfortunately, there is no pricing info for the device. The smartphone will be available in five colors.
