Canon to release PowerShot G16, S120, SX510 HS and SX170 IS; Specs and Price
Canon, the major camera manufacturer has added a series of new cameras to its PowerShot lineup. The new models include the PowerShot G16, S120, SX510 HS and the SX170 IS and boast DIGIC technology as well as the compact design.

Although smartphone camera popularity is continually increasing, the PowerShot line of cameras offers features such as advanced image sensors, high-quality optics, low-light capabilities and extremely fast autofocusing speeds that, when combined, are unrivaled by smartphone technology.”
In terms of specs, the first one, Canon PowersShot G16 carries a 12.1-megapixel sensor and a 28 – 140mm wide-angle lens. The camera comes with an integrated WiFi which makes sharing content to social site easy and you can send images ia email using iMAGE GATEWAY. Canon PowrShot G16 is capable of shooting videos up to 1080/60p Full HD, and there is an HDMI output to connect the camera with big screen or monitor. Cannon CameraWindow App for the camera are available on both Android and iOS. The camera is priced at $450 and release date is set in October.
The Canon S120 is successor to the S110 Point and shoot, and features a 12.1-MP high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and a 24 – 120mm extra-wide-angle lens, accompanied by Canon’s HS System that will merge a DIGIC 6 image processor. The camera can capture videos at 1080/60p Full HD and offers up to 12.1 frames per second at 12.1-megapixels. The PowerShot S120 also has WiFi for connectivity and comes with a 58 pre-defined scenes, a built-in stereo microphone and HDR mode. This model also supports the Canon’s CameraWindow app. Canon PowerShot S120 is priced at $450 and will be launched in October.
Next one is Canon PowerShot SX510 HSiii which stands between a DSLR and a high-end compact digital camera. The Canon PowerShot SX510 HSii features a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, 24mm wide-angle lens, Intelligent IS technology and a 30x optical zoom 24mm wide-angle lens. The PowerShot SX510 HS is also powered by a Canon DIGIC 4 Image Processor and bult-in WiFi, so capture and share with your friends and family via social sites easily. The camera can shoot videos at 1080p Full HD and has Zoom Framing Assist with the autofocus. This model is also offered with a Canon CameraWindow app which supports both iOS an Android. The Canon PowerShot SX510 HSiii is priced at $249.99
Finally the Canon PowerShot SX170 built around a compact body and comes with a long zoom capability. The PowerShot SX170 is the cheapest one in the series with a price tag of $180. The model sports a 16x optical zoom with 28mm wide-angle lens and Optical Image Stabilization, promising vivid and clear images. The camera packs a 16.0-megapixel sensor and can capture videos at 720p. The camera also features Smart AUTO technology which select the optimal settings automatically from 32 predefined scenes. For connectivity, there is an HDMI connector enabling you to playback on big screen. The Canon PowerShot SX170 IS is set to be released in September 2013.
