Acer Iconia A3 10″ Tablet announced at IFA 2013; Specs and Price
Acer has added an affordable Android tablet to its portfolio, dubbed Acer Iconia A3 designed specially for entertainment , multimedia and gaming experience. The device is pretty thin and has round corners.
The Acer Iconia A3 is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor and sports a 10″ display with a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. The device is promised to offer wide viewing angles and immerse sound. As a multimedia device, the tablet features a Dolby Digital Plus offering a virtualized 5.1 channel surround experience on headphone, background noise reduction and dialogue volume boost making sure consistent volume level and clear sound.
The tablet has a 5MP camera on the back, a micro HDMI port and Blutooth 4.0. The tablet also features WiFi and 3G. The device will be available in two version of storage options, 16 and 32 GB. The storage is expandable via a microSD card slot.
The Iconia A3 is promised to offer a smooth 9 hours of video playback. The device features Acer IntelliSpin, which means the screen image will automatically rotate to match the tablet’s orientation even while lying flat on surfaces.
The tablet measures at just 10.15 mm thickness and weighs in at less than 600 grams.
Price for the tablet is also attractive, starting at 250 euro ($330) for WiFi-only model and 300 euro ($395) for an Iconia A3 with cellular data feature. The WiFi-only version is set to be launched in October while the 3G model’s release date is in November in Europe. The company hasn’t said any word on the availability of the device in US.
