HTC to release Desire 601 and Desire 300
HTC has added another two devices to its Android series, the HTC Desire 601 and Desire 300. With the new announcement, HTC seems to be trying to meet people’s needs by bringing pretty good specs on a mid-end device. The HTC Desire 601 is a mid-end smartphone while the HTC Desire 300 is an entry-level device.
Spec-wise, the HTC Desire 601 is powered by 1.4Ghz dual-core CPU on Snapdragon 400 chipset and 1GB of RAM. The device features a standard 4.5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, 5 MP camera on the back and a VGA front unit for video call. The device has an 8 GB of internal storage, thanks to the microSD card support, expandable up to 64 GB. The device gets its power from a pretty good 2100 mAh Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery.
The camera on the back is capable of shooting videos at 1080 pixels resolution and offers some tricks like Sequence shot, Always Smile, Object Removal and VideoPic. The camera uses a 1/4″ BSI sensor with a wide F/2.0 aperture and 28mm wide lens.And whole camera thing is supported by a HTC’s in-house image processing chip, called HTC ImageChip.
For connectivity, the device has 4G LTE support, HSPA+ 42Mbps connectivity. The device also features usual connectivity features such a WiFi, Bluetooth and ports include microUSB v2.0, USB On-the-go, USB Host.
In terms of software, the Desire 601 is running on Android 4.2.2 OS and comes with HTC’s proprietary software features such as HTC Zoe and the Video Highlights in the Gallery.
On the other hand, the HTC Desire 300 is an entry- lever smartphone, powered by a 1Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset and 512MP. The device sports a 4.3 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen, 5 MP and VGA front-facing camera. The device has a 4 GB of internal storage and microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.
The smartphone get its power from a 1650mAh battery, should be good for Up to 625 hours (3G) in standby mode and Up to 11 h for talk time (3G).
Unfortunately, exact release date and price of both smartphones are not available, but expected to be released in October 2013.
