LG unveils G Pad 8.3; releasing in Q4

LG is finally back into tablets. The company behind many high-end Optimus and G series smartphones have finally added a tablet to its portfolio. The tablet represents its G series with the name LG G Pad 8.3, is an Android tablet with  8.3-inch display. The device comes with a premium build quality to rival tablets like Apple iPad mini, Galaxy Note 8.0 and Nexus 7.

The device is just clean on the front,  and looks premium at the first glance. The rear panel is made of high-quality aluminum, making it sturdy and solid. The device has an extremely thin profile  and could be  competing Apple iPad mini  and Google Nexus 7 by its build quality and feature.

The LG G 8.3 features a 8.3-inch display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution. the IPS technolgy used on the device should give a wide viewing angles and good picture clarity. On the back you have a 5MP camera and on the front is 1.3 MP camera for video call.

The device is powered by a 1.7GHz quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, that should be enough for a fluid operation on the device. The LG G Pad 8.3 has a 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.

the device is running on Android 4.2 top of that, there is LG’s own custom UI, with colorful icons and UI effects. There are also extra software features such as Q Pair application which pairs the tablet to a compatible smartphone like the G2, so that you can sync all messages, call, app screens and more, making things easier and handy with your gadgets in case you forgot your smartphone, you just don’t need to worry about miss calls, messages and contacts. The tablet also features KnockON to wake the tablet, just by double-tapping the screen.

All stuff inside the G Pad 8.3 is powered by a  4,600 mAh battery, that is higher than the one on the new Nexus 7. The tablet is promised to offer 7-8 hours of solid video playback and around 300 hours of mixed usage.

Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the pricing for the device, but has promised to cost competitively to other premium tablets. Release date is also a mystery, but the device is expected to hit the markets like US, Europe, and Asia in Q4 2013.
