Xiaomi Mi3 with Tegra 4 or Snapdragon 800 launched; Specs and Price
High-end smartphones and tablets are main displays at this IFA 2013 in Berlin. We have already seen a series of devices like Xperia Z1, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 as well as Asus’s transformer series. And now Xiaomi has unveiled its beast at a product event in Beijing today. Dubbed Xiaomi Mi3, is an Android smartphone with a top-notch specs under the hood for half the price of traditional high-end devices. Maybe it is because coming from China.
The device looks impressive in design as well as specifications. The device’s back body comes in different colors and has a curved edges on both sides. Back is flat and a camera sits on the top left corner of the device coupled with an LED flash, giving the device a neat look. The body is made of Magnesium alloy.
Spec-wise, Xiaomi comes in two version, one with Tegra 4 chipset and other with Snapdragon 800 Chipset inside. WCDMA and CDMA version of the Mi 3 for China will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chip with Krait 400 processor, which can go up 2.3GHz and Adreno 330 graphics boosted to 550MHz. More details on the Snapdragone 800 were revealed by the Xiaomi for the first time. The The Chip is built on SMC’s 28nm HPM process.
On the other hand, the Tegra 4 version features a 4+1 Cortex A15 processor clocked at 1.8GHz along with 72-core GeForce graphics.
The smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 2 GB of RAM. On the back of Xiaomi Mi3 lies the 13 MP camera with dual-LED flash. The camera is capable of shooting videos at 1080 pixels and capable of quick burst shots, at 10 shots in a second. The camera on the back is made by Sony and there is a 2 MP front-facing camera. The Xiaomi Mi3 will be available in two storage options, 16GB/64GB.
The Xiaomi Mi3 gets its juice from a 3050 mAh battery that should be more than enough for your day long activity on the device. Despite the huge battery, thee device keeps a slender look at 144mm×72mm×8.1mm and weighs in at just 145 g.
What makes the device stad out from the crowd is its price, the powerful Xiaomi Mi3 is priced at 1999 yuan ($327) off contract for 16 GB version while 2499 yuan, or $410. for 64 GB version. The release date is set to October 2013 in China.
