LG announces LG GX with 5.5″ Display in South Korea

LG has again proved they have more in their disposal to offer you by wrapping  off its new LG GX  . The LG GX smartphone with a huge display was unveiled in its birth land South Korea. From a first look, the device  has a alight resemblance of its counterpart Samsung Galaxy note with  a home button in the middle below the screen and the  placement and design of the camera and back body, but I am sure, this one is not a Galaxy device!.

Let’s take a quick look into specifications of the new LG GX. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset and Quad-core Krait 300 CPU. The device sports a 5.5” 1080p IPS Full HD display. The LG GX has many similarities with the LG Optimus G Pro  when it comes to specifications. The device is more of an upgraded version of the LG Optimus G Pro. The device has a 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in memory. On the back lies a 13 MP camera and a 2.1 MP camera on the front for video call.

Both front and back camera of the LG GX can shoot videos at 1080p video at 30 frame per second. The camera also offers image stabilization and HDR.

The device has LTE for connectivity  as well as other usual connectivity features including NFC, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. For ports.

The LG GX also features ports such as microUSB v2.0 (SlimPort) with USB Host. The battery feeding all these components and features is a 3,140mAh battery, that should be pretty good for your all day activity on the device. Despite the beefy battery inside, the device is relatively thin at a  9.2 mm. The device measures at 150.6 x 76.1 and weighs in 167 grams.

The LG GX smartphone will be available in black and white . On the software side, the LG GX  is certainly an Android device  and will be running on an unspecified version of Android Jelly Bean out of the box, but certainly the device should get an update to Android KitKat. If you are in Korea, you should get the device by the end of December, unfortunately, the LG hasn’t revealed anything about the price. and no word on international release of the LG GX.
