Acer to release Iconia W4 Win8 Tablet late January; Specs and Price

Acer has a series of new devices for this CES and among them is new Acer Iconia W4, a Windows 8-powered tablet with 8.1-inch screen and stylish matte finish. Acer had a plan to luanch this tablet in last year, but for unknown reason it was delayed and  has finally hit the market just before the CES 2014.

The tablet measures 10.75mm thick and weighs 0.92 pounds. A tablet with an 8.1 inch is compact and easy to carry with us  and yet not too small. The table has a round corners and very flat design on both back and front sides.

In terms of specifications, the Acer Iconia W4 packs 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Bay Trail processor and  32GB of internal storage, with a pricier model having 64GB storage. The device has microSD card slot to further expand the memory, that supports up to 32GB.

The Iconia W4 sports an 8.1 inch  IPS LCD screen laminated with Zero Air Gap technology that offers 16:10 aspect ratio and not so good 1280×800 resolution. This could be due to its less price point  compared to other high-end devices out there. The tablet also features rear and front cameras, 5MP and 2MP respectively with capability of shooting an impressive 1080p video at 60fps speed. The rear camera also has autofocus.

Moreover, the new tablet is coming with Windows 8.1 on board, with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013. For connectivity, there are posts such as microUSB and a microHDMI. Acer also offers some accessories for the device.

The Acer Iconia W4 with 32GB storage carries a price tag of $329.99 in US while €299 in Europe and the release date is set to late January 2014, that is not too long. Retailers such as Amazon has already listed the device in US.
