Asus announces new PadFone E with 4.7″ Display
It seems that PadFone devices are high priority to the Taiwanese manufacturer. After announcing the new PadFone mini device at the CES, the company has added yet another PadFone smartphone/tablet hybrid to the lineup but this time the device stands in the middle of mini and original PadFone. Not only that, the new PadFone offers dual-SIM support.
Judging by present specification standards in the market, the smartphone is a mid-end device. The PadFone E is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU on Snapdragon 400 chipset and sports a 4.7″ display with 1280 x 720 resolution, 1 GB of RAM, 13 MP camera on the back, with f/2.4 aperture and an LED flash. Powering the smartphone is a 1,820 mAh battery.
The new PadFone docking station has a 720p 10.1″ screen and beefing up total juice in the gadgets, there is a 5,000 mAh battery on the tablet dock which can also charge the PadFone E while it is docked. THe station also has a 1 MP front-facing camera. The new PadFone E runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will be available in two colors pearl’ white and ‘Johnnie Walker’ black.
The new PadFone E is expected to launch in Taiwan first, details on pricing and release date still scarce though. From the recent announcement of new PadFone series, it looks like the company is satisfied with its performance in the market and so fond of its form factor, and yea who wouldn’t like such a device that fulfills dual purpose right?.
