Lenovo ThinkPad 8 Windows 8 Tablet official; Specs and Price
Lenovo has added yet another Windows 8 tablet to its portfolio which the company will display at the CES 2014. The tablet with a sleek design and thin form factor is an 8.3″ device. The device is specially designed for business users with full Windows 8.1 operating system on board.
The tablet looks ultra thin at 8.8mm thickness and a very flat design on both side. The tablet is black aluminum finish. The device has no physical button except a single Windows start button on front side.
Internal specifications include Intel’s newest Atom mobile micro-architecture 2.4GHz Intel Z3770 quad-core chip and its own HD Graphics solution with support for OpenGL 3.2 and DX11. The tablet has a 2GB of LPDDR3 1067MHz dual-channel RAM. Even though the Lenovo claims it to be most powerful chip inside, the average speed they claim may no be right as there can be thermal throttling and average speed will be around 1.46GHz. The ThinkPad 8 has 128GB of internal storage to store all your images and files.
The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 has a 8.3″ IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1920×1200 and promised to offer wide viewing angle and vivid colors. The tablet also features front and rear facing cameras, 2MP and 8MP respectively. The rear camera also features auto-focus and flash and both cameras are capable of shooting videos at 1080p resolution.
In terms of connectivity, the tablet features 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI output and optional worldwide 3G/4G. The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 also features dual speakers and dual microphones. Additionally the tablet includes Lenovo QuickCast 2.0 which lets you connect with other devices wirelessly and stream video.The tablet is also offered with a flip cover with which you can wake the tablet from sleep mode.
The new Lenovo ThinkPad 8 release date is set to late January, with a starting price of $429.
