LG to launch G3 on May 17th, G Pro 2 at MWC in February
Rumors about the new LG flagships have been in the air for a while and now it seems that official announcement of these devices are getting close. Apparently the company is working on the successor to the LG Optimus G Pro, making the way for LG G3 which has been in the rumor mill for a while. The devices are coming amid rumors about next Samsung flagship Galaxy S5 and Sony’s upcoming device and both would apparently feature 5.2″ QHD display.
Reports about the new flagship from LG popped up on Korean publication Asiae. According to the publication, the LG is planning to announce LG G3 on May 17. The publication cited its unspecified source for the info, and the publication went on to say that the LG continues to stand out from the crowd by using a 5.5″ QHD (2,560 x 1,440) display. To say more accurately, the LG is coming with a device that could counter both Sony’s and Samsung’s flagship devices including the Galaxy Note II with 5.5 inch display and you should note that 5.2″ is same size as the G2.
More details of either device including specs and price are yet to emerge but LG is allegedly planning to unveil its LG G Pro 2 in late February at MWC and could feature a 5.9″ QHD display. According to earlier reports, the device would come with 1440 x 2560 display, 16 MP camera on the back and LG’s own octa-core processor.
LG might have chosen the date in May to counter the expected launching of Samsung Galaxy S5 in March. Anyway, if the report is true, we should see more details in the near future if the LG is not that adamant to keep things secret .
