MakerBot Replicator Desktop, Mini and Z18 3D printers announced; Specs and Price

3D printers are gradually becoming more common and affordable as well as compact. It is not too far when we all own  3D printers like PCs. MakerBot is one of the companies producing commercial 3D printers and trying hard to make its way to every home . The company has showcased its three  new 3D printers at the CES 2014, dubbed MakerBot Replicator Desktop,  Replicator Mini and MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D printers.

MakerBot Replicator Desktop is the main 3D printer in the line, the 5th generation 3D printer offers a larger printing volume measuring up to 9.9 in x 7.8 in x 5.9 inches. The printer is coming with WiFi connectivity which enables the device to wirelessly connect to MakerBot’s new desktop. The printer can also be connected via USB or Eithernet cable  and the printer offers a 100-micron layer resolution. The Replicator Desktop is built with a camera and Smart Extruder  to monitor printing and detect filament absence.

Second one is the MakerBot Replicator Mini which specially designed for smaller use and needs. As the name suggests the printer is smaller version among the series, which can handle a volume up to 3.9 x 3.9  x 4.9 inches. The printer is also coming with One-Touch 3D printing technology for usability and offers all the core features of its bigger brother , including Smart Extruder and on-board camera. The device is ideal for home, classrooms  or offices.

Finally the MakerBot Replicator Z18  which is capable of 12 x 12 x 18  inches volume. The device is not only bigger but can also print multiple models simultaneously. The model is ideal for more serious design or even for larger firms for printing prototypes.

All three MakerBot 3D printers offer apps and cloud support as well as MakerBot Desktop and MakerBot Mobile app compatibility. The devices will be available with the MakerCare service and parts plan. MakerBot offers its Replicator Desktop for a price of  $2,899  and it is available on sale via its online store, while the MakerBot Replicator Mini and the Replicator Z18 are expected to hit the market in Spring 2014 with a price tag of around $1,375 and $6,499, respectively.
