Nokia X aka Normandy more spec details emerged; featuring 4″ display, dual-core CPU
Again @eveleaks with an exciting info. The anticipated Nokia Normandy has been one of the top titles in the tech world and here it is again with more information. The info brought to the light by the same @evleaks that claimed the real name for the Normandy aka A110 would be Nokia X. The new info is coming just after Normandy’s appearance on a Vietnamese online store.
According to the new leak, the Nokia X will have a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor but chipset on the device is unknown, previous rumors suggests a Snapdragon 200 8225Q though, not sure how accurate that is as it is a quad-core chip.
Other specifications include 512MB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage. The smartphone will also have a 4.0-inch WVGA display with 800 x 480 resolution, 5 MP camera, dual-SIM support and the device will be getting its juice from 1,500mAh battery.
On the software side, the device is expected to rock a Metro UI like its Windows Phone counterpart and will have Nokia’s own application store on board just like Amazon Kindle Fire series, but you are not stuck with app from the store, you will also be able to install third party apps. Nokia is well-known for its color-love and that will be the case for Nokia X as well, and will be available in six different colors.
The smartphone is not certainly coming to compete with high-end Android devices out there but as a first Android smartphone from Nokia, this can be a test to see how people all over the world react to it and Nokia could bring more robust features to its future Android devices. However, the device can certainly challenge entry-level Android devices out there and Nokia’s focus should be on that and to regain its glory in the developing countries. This could also be Nokia’s first step to ditch its Asha series.
