Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 announced with full specs
Smells CES 2014! We have just seen some new devices from Lenovo and here comes Samsung. Samsung has just announced its next generation Galaxy Camera, the Galaxy Camera 2 GC200 with new design, faster processor, more storage and RAM. The new Galaxy Camera 2 has got a very sleek and compact design this time .
The Galaxy Camera 2 comes powered by quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz (could be the Cortex-A9 variety) and sports a 4.8-inch Super Clear 720p LCD display with 306ppi, 2 GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded via microSD card slot up to 64GB. Only 2.8GB of internal storage is user accessible on the new Galaxy Camera 2, so you will certainly have to add a microSD card.
As you know, it is a camera powered by Android OS, so let’s take a look into what it has to offer. The Galaxy Camera 2 brings a 1/2.3″ BSI sensor and 16.3MP of resolution. Sensor is the same one used on its bigger brother, the 21x optical zoom lens with and optical image stabilization and the company has kept the pop up xenon flash and a dedicated AF light. On the recording side, there is no change either, the device can shoot videos 1080p@30fps, 720p@60fps and 512p@120fps. On the back you have the same 4.8-inch Super Clear 720p LCD display intact with 306ppi density.
Additional new features include NFC connectivity, juicy 2000mAh battery and new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board. Top of that, there is Samsung’s latest TouchWiz UI.
If you think the company has kept the SIM slot too, big sorry! unfortunately, the new Galaxy Camera 2 doesn’t support SIM, so no more 3G or LTE support, but hey! Samsung can bring its new version, so be patient for a while.
Pricing and release date ?, well, Samsung hasn’t said anything about those subjects or availability, so we will have to wait and see. However, the device will be displayed at the CES 2014 and we will keep you posted. For now check out the gallery.
